Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup tahini This sesame seed paste provides creaminess and a unique flavor.
  • 1/2 cup water Adjusts the consistency, making the dressing pourable.
  • 2 tsp miso paste Adds depth and umami flavor.
  • 3 Tbsp nutritional yeast Contributes a cheesy flavor while being dairy-free.
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard A hint of tanginess enhances the overall flavor.
  • 1 tsp garlic powder For that classic Caesar flavor.
  • 2 tsp capers Introduces a briny note that elevates the dressing.
  • Salt and black pepper To taste, balancing the flavors.

Equipment

  • Blender or Food Processor
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Citrus juicer
  • Storage Container

Method

  1. In your blender or food processor, add 1/2 cup tahini, 1/2 cup water, 2 tsp miso paste, and 3 Tbsp nutritional yeast. These ingredients will form the creamy base of your dressing.
  2. Next, to the base mixture, add 1 tsp Dijon mustard, 1 tsp garlic powder, and 2 tsp capers. These flavor-packed ingredients will bring your dressing to life.
  3. Juice your lemon and add the freshly squeezed juice to the blender. This will brighten the flavors and add a refreshing zing.
  4. Season with salt and black pepper to taste, then blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy. If the dressing is too thick, add a little more water, one tablespoon at a time, until you reach your desired consistency.
  5. Give your dressing a taste and adjust the seasonings as needed. You may want more lemon juice, salt, or nutritional yeast depending on your preference.
  6. Transfer the dressing to a storage container and refrigerate it for at least 30 minutes before using. This allows the flavors to meld beautifully.

Notes

  • This dressing can be adjusted to your taste. Love garlic? Consider adding a clove of fresh garlic instead of garlic powder.
  • If you’re not a fan of capers, feel free to leave them out or substitute with chopped olives for a different briny flavor.
  • This Tahini Caesar Dressing works beautifully as a sandwich spread or a dip for crudités.
  • For a spicier kick, try adding a pinch of red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce.
