Ingredients

  • 8 pieces corn tortillas
  • 1 spray Cooking spray or vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon Chili powder (optional, for added flavor)

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Brush or spray bottle
  • Oven mitts

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) for even baking.
  2. Line your baking sheet with parchment paper or spray with cooking spray.
  3. If the tortillas are too stiff, microwave them for about 10 seconds to soften.
  4. Lightly brush or spray each tortilla with cooking spray or vegetable oil. Optionally, sprinkle chili powder on each.
  5. Drape tortillas over the edges of two inverted muffin tins to form the shell shape.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-15 minutes, until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove from muffin tins and let cool for a few minutes before filling with your favorite toppings.

Notes

  • Store leftover taco shells in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days.
  • To maintain crispiness, avoid stacking the shells.
  • For longer storage, freeze them with parchment paper in between and reheat in the oven.
