Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 4 bags black chai tea
  • 1 4-inch cinnamon stick
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pint vanilla ice cream (2 cups)
  • to taste ground cinnamon for topping

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Small Saucepan
  • Serving glasses

Method

  1. Start by bringing 1 cup of water to a boil in a small saucepan. Once boiling, remove it from the heat and add the 4 black chai tea bags along with the 4-inch cinnamon stick. Allow the tea to steep for about 5 minutes, infusing the water with all the wonderful spices.
  2. After the tea has steeped, remove the tea bags and cinnamon stick. Add the brewed chai tea to the blender, along with the 1 cup of milk, 1/2 teaspoon of ground ginger, 1/8 teaspoon of cayenne pepper, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
  3. Add 1 pint (2 cups) of vanilla ice cream to the blender. Blend on high until smooth and creamy. If the mixture is too thick, feel free to add a splash more milk until you reach your desired consistency.
  4. Pour the Spicy Vanilla Chai Milkshake into your serving glasses. Sprinkle a little ground cinnamon on top for that extra touch of flavor and elegance. Serve immediately and enjoy the delightful combination of spices and creaminess.

Notes

  • Adjust the blend of spices to your liking; add more ginger or cayenne for extra heat.
  • This milkshake makes a great dessert after a cozy meal.
  • For a dairy-free version, substitute milk and ice cream with almond milk and dairy-free ice cream.
