Start by popping your popcorn. If you’re using an air popper, follow the manufacturer’s instructions. If using stovetop method, heat a pot over medium heat and add a few kernels. Once they pop, add the rest of the kernels and cover the pot. Shake occasionally until popping slows down.
While your popcorn is popping, measure out the liquid coconut oil or melted butter spread in a mixing bowl. Ensure it’s not too hot to prevent burning the popcorn.
Once your popcorn is ready, transfer it to the mixing bowl with the oil. Drizzle the oil over the popcorn and gently toss until evenly coated.
Sprinkle the sweetener over the popcorn and toss again to combine. If using salt, sprinkle it now and mix until evenly seasoned.
