Instructions:
  1. Step 1: Prepare Your Baking Pan - Grease your 9x9-inch baking pan with butter or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Step 2: Melt the Chocolate and Butter - In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine chopped unsweetened chocolate and butter. Stir until melted and smooth.
  3. Step 3: Mix Dry Ingredients - In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  4. Step 4: Combine Sugars with Chocolate Mixture - In the cooled chocolate mixture, add brown sugar and regular sugar. Whisk until combined, then add eggs, egg yolk, and vanilla extract.
  5. Step 5: Incorporate Dry Ingredients - Gently fold dry ingredients into the chocolate mixture until just combined.
  6. Step 6: Add Chocolate Chips - Fold in semisweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
