  2. Step 2: Spread the Pesto - Spread 1 to 2 tablespoons of pesto on one slice of white bread.
  3. Step 3: Add the Cheese - Place a slice of provolone cheese on top of the pesto-covered bread.
  4. Step 4: Top It Off - Place the second slice of bread on top to create a sandwich.
  5. Step 5: Butter the Bread - Spread 1 tablespoon of butter (or mayonnaise) on the outside of the top slice.
