  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Step 2: Place the chicken breasts between two sheets of plastic wrap or parchment paper. Use a meat mallet or rolling pin to gently pound the chicken to an even thickness, about 1 inch.
  3. Step 3: In a mixing bowl, combine the Italian bread crumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, salt, oregano, basil, and pepper. Mix well.
  4. Step 4: In another bowl, whisk the egg until well beaten.
  5. Step 5: Dip each chicken breast into the egg mixture, allowing any excess to drip off. Coat the chicken in the bread crumb mixture.
  6. Step 6: Place the breaded chicken breasts in a greased baking dish. Bake for about 20 minutes.
