Preparation Steps:
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
- In another bowl, combine the milk, melted butter, egg, vinegar (or lemon juice), and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Gently stir until just combined. Let the batter sit for about 5 minutes.
- Preheat your griddle or skillet over medium heat. Test if ready by sprinkling water; it should sizzle.
- Lightly grease the griddle. Pour about 1/4 cup of batter for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form, about 2-3 minutes.
- Flip the pancakes and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown. Keep warm while repeating with remaining batter.
- Serve warm with your favorite toppings.
Notes
- For fluffier pancakes, let the batter rest longer (up to 10 minutes).
- Adjust sweetness by adding more or less sugar to taste.
