Ingredients

  • 4 pieces boneless skinless chicken breasts The star of the dish, providing lean protein.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Adds moisture and richness.
  • 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder Infuses the chicken with a savory flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon salt Enhances the overall taste.
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper Adds a subtle kick.
  • 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper For those who enjoy a bit of heat.

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper or aluminum foil
  • Meat thermometer
  • Mixing Bowl

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). This ensures that the chicken cooks evenly and thoroughly.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup. This will also prevent the chicken from sticking.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Mix well to create a marinade.
  4. Place the boneless skinless chicken breasts in the bowl with the marinade. Use your hands or a brush to coat each piece thoroughly, ensuring even flavor.
  5. Transfer the coated chicken breasts to the prepared baking sheet, spacing them out so they bake evenly.
  6. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165°F (74°C).
  7. Once cooked, remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute, keeping the chicken moist.
