Ingredients

  • 1 cup Nutella or hazelnut spread
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup whole-wheat pastry flour
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1/16 teaspoon salt

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Whisk
  • Spatula
  • 8x8 inch baking pan
  • Parchment paper

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). This ensures that your brownies bake evenly.
  2. Line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal later.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, add 1 cup of Nutella and 2 eggs. Whisk them together until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  4. In the same bowl, sift in 3/4 cup of whole-wheat pastry flour, 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder, and 1/16 teaspoon of salt. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture using a spatula until just combined.
  5. Transfer the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly with your spatula.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes. You’ll know they’re done when the edges look set, but the center remains slightly soft.
  7. Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes. Use the parchment paper to lift them out and place them on a wire rack to cool completely. Once cooled, cut into squares and enjoy!

Notes

  • Store brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
  • For longer storage, refrigerate for up to a week.
  • Freeze brownies wrapped tightly for up to 3 months; thaw in the fridge before serving.
