Ingredients
  

For the Cookies:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 8 tablespoons unsalted butter softened (1 stick)
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 whole eggs
  • 1 cup Nutella
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup add-ins see below

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Step 2: In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Step 3: In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  4. Step 4: Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture and beat until fully combined.
  5. Step 5: Fold in the Nutella until it's beautifully blended into the mixture.
  6. Step 6: Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  7. Step 7: Fold in your choice of add-ins like chocolate chips or toffee bits.
  8. Step 8: Drop rounded balls of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them about two inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
  9. Step 9: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

Notes

  • Experiment with different mix-ins to keep things interesting!
  • Store cooled cookies in an airtight container for up to a week.
  • Freeze cookies for longer storage, lasting up to 3 months.
