Ingredients

For the Coffee Jelly:
  • 1 packet gelatin (2 1/4 teaspoons)
  • 1.5 tablespoons water
  • 2.5 tablespoons granulated sugar (for coffee jelly)
  • 1 cup very hot strong coffee
For the Milk Tea:
  • 3 cups hot water (for the tea)
  • 3 bags black tea
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (for milk tea, adjust to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream or milk

Equipment

  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Small Saucepan
  • Whisk
  • Serving glasses

Method

Stepwise Method:
  1. Step 1: Prepare the Coffee Jelly. Begin by sprinkling the gelatin over the 1 1/2 tablespoons of water in a small bowl. Allow it to sit for about 5 minutes to bloom.
  2. Step 2: Dissolve the Sugar. In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of very hot strong coffee with 2 heaping tablespoons of granulated sugar. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  3. Step 3: Combine Gelatin and Coffee. Once the gelatin has bloomed, add it to the warm coffee mixture. Stir well until the gelatin is fully dissolved.
  4. Step 4: Set the Coffee Jelly. Pour the mixture into a shallow dish or mold and refrigerate for about 2-3 hours, or until set.
  5. Step 5: Brew the Black Tea. While the coffee jelly is setting, bring 3 cups of water to a boil. Remove from heat and add the 3 bags of black tea. Let it steep for about 5-7 minutes.
  6. Step 6: Sweeten the Tea. After steeping, remove the tea bags and stir in 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar. Adjust the sweetness to your liking.
  7. Step 7: Prepare the Milk. Add 2 tablespoons of heavy cream or milk to the sweetened tea. Stir well to combine.
  8. Step 8: Assemble Your Drink. Once the coffee jelly is fully set, cut it into cubes. Divide the coffee jelly into serving glasses and pour the milk tea over it.
  9. Step 9: Serve and Enjoy! Give it a gentle stir and enjoy your delicious Milk Tea With Coffee Jelly as a refreshing treat!
