Instructions
- Prepare the macaroni and cheese according to package instructions or your homemade recipe, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours to chill.
- Set up your breading station with flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs in separate bowls.
- Shape the chilled macaroni and cheese into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
- Dredge each ball in flour, dip in eggs, and coat with breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
- Arrange the coated balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between them.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C), drizzle the balls with olive oil, and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving warm with your favorite dipping sauces.
Notes
- You can prepare the cheese balls a day in advance and store them in the refrigerator before baking.
- For extra crispiness, consider using panko breadcrumbs.
- Feel free to add cooked bacon bits or jalapeños for added flavor.
