Ingredients

Ingredients:
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 8 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Whisk
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • 9-inch pie dish
  • Oven
  • Cooling rack

Method

Instructions:
  1. Step 1: Preheat the Oven - Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). This ensures your pie bakes evenly and achieves the right texture.
  2. Step 2: Prepare the Mixing Bowl - In a large mixing bowl, combine the milk, shredded coconut, eggs, vanilla extract, melted butter, sugar, flour, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. Step 3: Mix It Up - Using a whisk, blend all the ingredients until the mixture is smooth and well combined. The batter will be somewhat liquid, which is perfectly normal for Impossible Pie.
  4. Step 4: Transfer to Pie Dish - Pour the mixture into a greased 9-inch pie dish, making sure it’s evenly distributed.
  5. Step 5: Bake! - Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Step 6: Cool and Serve - Once baked, remove the pie from the oven and allow it to cool for at least 10 minutes. This will help it set up nicely. Serve warm or at room temperature, and enjoy the delightful flavors of your Impossible Pie!
