Instructions
  1. Step 1: Prepare the Avocados - Start by cutting the avocados in half lengthwise. Remove the pit carefully, then scoop the flesh into a mixing bowl. Use a fork or potato masher to mash the avocados to your desired consistency—smooth or chunky, it’s up to you!
  2. Step 2: Add the Fresh Ingredients - Once the avocados are mashed, it’s time to add the diced jalapeño, soaked and patted dry red onion, minced garlic, lime juice, chopped cilantro, cumin, and salt. Mix everything together gently, ensuring that the flavors meld without overmixing.
  3. Step 3: Fold in the Tomato - Incorporate the chopped Roma tomato last, as it adds texture and color. Fold it in gently to keep the pieces intact.
  4. Step 4: Taste and Adjust - Now for the fun part—taste your guacamole! Adjust the seasoning with more salt, lime juice, or pepper according to your preference.
  5. Step 5: Serve and Enjoy - Transfer your guacamole to a serving bowl, and if you’re not serving it right away, cover it with plastic wrap pressed directly onto the surface to prevent browning. Enjoy with tortilla chips, use it as a topping for tacos, or spread it on your favorite sandwich!

Notes

  • Store guacamole in an airtight container with plastic wrap pressed against the surface to minimize air exposure.
  • Guacamole can be frozen for up to three months; use a freezer-safe container.
  • When ready to use frozen guacamole, thaw in the refrigerator and stir in a bit of fresh lime juice to freshen it up.
