Course: Beverage
Cuisine: Coffee

Ingredients

  • 3 ounces espresso (2 shots, freshly brewed)
  • 1 cup whole milk (for creamy texture)
  • to taste sugar (optional)

Equipment

  • Espresso machine
  • Steamer wand or milk frother
  • Cup or glass
  • Spoon

Method

  1. Start by brewing your espresso. Using your espresso machine, pull two shots to get that rich, robust flavor.
  2. While your espresso is brewing, pour 1 cup of whole milk into a steaming pitcher. Use the steam wand or milk frother to heat the milk until it reaches about 150°F, creating microfoam.
  3. Once your espresso is ready and your milk is steamed, pour the steamed milk directly over the espresso, allowing the microfoam to sit on top.
  4. If you like your coffee a little sweet, now is the time to add sugar. Stir gently to incorporate it into your drink.
  5. Pour your Flat White into your favorite cup or glass, and enjoy this delightful homemade coffee treat!

Notes

  • Consider using skim milk or almond milk for a lighter version.
  • Experiment with sugar substitutes like stevia for a healthier option.
  • Add cocoa powder or cinnamon for an extra flavor boost!
