Start by patting the salmon fillet dry with a paper towel. This helps to ensure a nice sear if you're pan-searing.
Drizzle the olive oil over the salmon, ensuring it's evenly coated. Then, sprinkle Kosher salt, ground black pepper, and smoked paprika on both sides of the fillet.
You can either bake or pan-sear the salmon. If you choose to bake, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). For pan-searing, heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
For baking: Place the seasoned salmon on a baking sheet and bake for about 12-15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
For pan-searing: Place the salmon skin-side down in the hot skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes, then carefully flip the fillet and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes.
Once cooked, remove the salmon from the heat and let it rest for a couple of minutes. Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve with lemon wedges.
