Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice adds a bright, tangy flavor
  • 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce a hint of umami goodness
  • 1/2 cup olive oil for richness and moisture
  • 2 tablespoons fresh oregano minced or 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1/2 cup fresh parsley minced and lightly packed or 4 teaspoons dried parsley
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil minced and lightly packed or 4 teaspoons dried basil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika for a subtle warmth and color
  • 2 teaspoons salt enhances all the flavors
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper adds a little kick
  • 2 pounds skinless chicken breasts or any cut of chicken

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Whisk or Fork
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Resealable plastic bag or container

Method

  1. Step 1: Gather Ingredients. Start by measuring out all your marinade ingredients. Having everything in one place makes the process smoother.
  2. Step 2: Mix the Marinade. In a mixing bowl, combine the lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and olive oil. Whisk until well blended.
  3. Step 3: Add Herbs and Spices. To the bowl, add the oregano, parsley, basil, garlic, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Whisk again to combine all the flavors.
  4. Step 4: Marinate the Chicken. Place the chicken in a resealable plastic bag or container. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring it’s well-coated. Seal the bag or cover the container.
  5. Step 5: Refrigerate. Let the chicken marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to 8 hours for more intense flavor.
  6. Step 6: Cook and Enjoy! Once marinated, cook the chicken using your preferred method. For grilling, preheat your grill and cook the chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked.

Notes

  • For best results, allow marination for a few hours.
  • Discard any leftover marinade that has come into contact with raw chicken.
  • Uncooked marinated chicken can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
  • You can freeze marinated chicken for up to 3 months.
