Ingredients

  • 16 ounces hummus
  • 2 tablespoons Kalamata olives halved
  • 1 whole cucumber seeded and diced
  • 1 whole tomato seeded and diced
  • 1 tablespoon red onion diced
  • 2 tablespoons feta cheese crumbled
  • Pita wedges, cucumber slices, or celery sticks for dipping

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Serving dish
  • Knife
  • Cutting board
  • Measuring spoons

Method

  1. Start by preparing all your fresh ingredients. Seed and dice the cucumber and tomato, and finely dice the red onion. Halve the Kalamata olives and set everything aside.
  2. Select a shallow serving dish or platter. This will allow you to create beautiful layers that are easy to see and scoop.
  3. Spoon the 16 ounces of hummus into the bottom of your serving dish, spreading it evenly to create a smooth base layer.
  4. Sprinkle the diced cucumber over the hummus layer, followed by the diced tomato. The fresh veggies will provide a lovely crunch and vibrant color.
  5. Next, add the diced red onion. This addition will give your dish a slight kick and enhance the overall flavor profile.
  6. Add the halved Kalamata olives on top of the red onion layer. Their rich flavor will contrast beautifully with the lighter veggies.
  7. Lastly, sprinkle the crumbled feta cheese over the top, adding a rich and creamy texture that ties everything together.
  8. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and let it chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. Chilling allows the flavors to meld together beautifully. Serve with pita wedges, cucumber slices, or celery sticks for dipping.

Notes

  • Fresh ingredients are key to a vibrant flavor.
  • Feel free to experiment with the layers; add roasted red peppers or artichokes for variety.
  • For a spicier version, consider adding diced jalapeƱos or a sprinkle of red pepper flakes.
