Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon Chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 8 ounces Tomato sauce

Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • Wooden spoon or spatula
  • Measuring spoons
  • Serving utensils

Method

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Use a wooden spoon to break it up as it cooks. Stir occasionally until the meat is browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Once the beef is browned, drain any excess fat from the skillet.
  3. Sprinkle in the chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir well to combine the spices with the beef.
  4. Add the tomato sauce to the skillet. Mix thoroughly, ensuring that the meat is well-coated with the sauce and spices.
  5. Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and serve in taco shells, burritos, or over a bed of lettuce.

Notes

  • Cook the meat ahead of time and store it in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • Freeze the cooked taco meat in portions for up to 3 months.
