Ingredients

  • 8 oz dried bowtie or farfalle pasta
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt (or to taste)
  • Italian seasoning (optional for extra flavor)
  • Dried basil (for garnish)

Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Large pot
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Colander

Method

  1. Start by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil. Once boiling, add your 8 oz of dried bowtie or farfalle pasta. Cook according to the package instructions until al dente, usually around 8-10 minutes.
  2. After cooking, drain the pasta in a colander and let it cool for a few minutes to achieve perfect crispiness.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the cooled pasta with olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, onion powder, dried basil, grated Parmesan cheese, and kosher salt. Toss until well-coated.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Add the seasoned pasta to the basket in a single layer, cooking in batches if necessary. Air fry for about 8-10 minutes, shaking halfway through.
  5. Once golden brown and crispy, remove the pasta chips and let them cool for a few minutes before serving with your favorite dip.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature to maintain crunch.
  • Consume within 2-3 days for the best flavor and texture.
  • If they lose crispiness, re-crisp them in the air fryer for a few minutes at 350°F (175°C).
