Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup cold whole or low-fat milk
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons instant espresso powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract pure for best results
  • 4 medium scoops French vanilla ice cream softened
  • 4 medium scoops chocolate sorbet or chocolate sherbet, softened

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Spoon or spatula
  • Large glasses

Method

  1. Gather all your ingredients: cold milk, instant espresso powder, almond extract, French vanilla ice cream, and chocolate sorbet.
  2. In your blender, combine the cold milk, instant espresso powder, and almond extract. Blend on medium speed until the espresso powder is fully dissolved, about 30 seconds.
  3. Add the softened French vanilla ice cream and chocolate sorbet to the blender. Blend on high speed until well combined and thick, about 1-2 minutes.
  4. Taste your milkshake. Adjust by adding more espresso powder or ice cream if desired, then blend again.
  5. Pour the milkshake into large glasses and serve immediately, optionally garnished with whipped cream or chocolate shavings.

Notes

  • For a dairy-free version, use almond or coconut milk and dairy-free ice cream.
  • Reduce sugar by using unsweetened chocolate sorbet and less ice cream.
  • Add protein powder for a post-workout boost.
