Preparation Steps:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded rotisserie chicken, salt, black pepper, chili powder, onion powder, salsa, lime juice, and the Mexican-style cheese blend. Mix well until all the ingredients are thoroughly combined.
- Take a flour tortilla and place a generous amount of the chicken filling in the center. Roll the tortilla tightly around the filling, making sure to tuck in the sides as you go. Secure the ends with a toothpick if needed.
- In a large skillet, pour in the vegetable oil and heat it over medium-high heat until hot.
- Carefully add the flautas to the hot oil, frying them for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
- Once fried, transfer the flautas to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve with salsa, guacamole, or sour cream on the side.
Notes
- For extra flavor, customize the spices in the filling to your taste.
- These flautas can be made ahead of time and fried just before serving.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
