- Step 3: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the plant-based Italian sausage until browned and heated through. Crumble it into bite-sized pieces.
- Step 4: Brush the cast iron skillet with extra-virgin olive oil. Place your rolled-out pizza dough in the skillet, pressing it into the edges. Spread a layer of Cashew Cream or sprinkle the grated mozzarella cheese evenly over the dough.
- Step 5: Scatter the crumbled sausage, chopped red onion, quartered artichoke hearts, and roasted red peppers or tomatoes over the cheese. Finish with dollops of pesto and a sprinkle of red pepper flakes.
- Step 6: Place your cast iron skillet in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes or until the crust is golden and crispy, and the cheese is bubbling.
