Instructions
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 3/4 cup mayonnaise and 1/2 cup sour cream. Stir them together until smooth and creamy.
  2. Next, add the minced garlic clove, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon pepper, 1/2 teaspoon paprika, and 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard. Mix well to incorporate all the flavors.
  3. Add 1 tablespoon of sugar to the mixture. This will balance the acidity of the buttermilk and provide a delightful contrast.
  4. Slowly pour in 1/2 cup of buttermilk, whisking continuously until the dressing is smooth and well blended.
  5. Lastly, stir in 1 teaspoon of chopped fresh dill or 1/2 teaspoon of dried dill. This adds a fresh touch that takes the dressing to the next level.
  6. Taste your dressing and adjust the seasoning if necessary. You can add more salt, pepper, or sugar according to your preference.
  7. Transfer the dressing to a jar or airtight container and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving. This allows the flavors to meld beautifully.

Notes

  • For a spicy kick, add a dash of cayenne pepper.
  • If you love tangy flavors, consider increasing the amount of buttermilk.
  • This dressing keeps well in the refrigerator for up to ten days.
