Cooking Instructions:
- In a large pot, combine 2 quarts of water and 2 tablespoons of kosher salt. Bring the water to a rolling boil over high heat.
- Once the water is boiling, add the 2 pounds of large shrimp, ensuring they are fully submerged. Stir gently to prevent sticking.
- Allow the shrimp to cook for about 2-3 minutes, or until they turn pink and opaque. Be careful not to overcook them.
- While the shrimp are cooking, melt 8 tablespoons of butter in a separate saucepan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.
- Using a slotted spoon, remove the shrimp from the pot and place them on a serving platter. Drizzle the garlic butter over the shrimp and garnish with lemon wedges.
- Serve the shrimp warm with extra lemon wedges on the side or chilled with cocktail sauce.
Notes
- Ensure you use the freshest shrimp for the best flavor.
- Don’t skip the salt in the boiling water to enhance the shrimp's sweetness.
- Watch the cooking time closely to avoid overcooking.
