Ingredients

  • 4 slices banana bread slightly stale works best
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter for spreading
  • 6 ounces Brie cheese soft and creamy
  • 4 ounces dark chocolate chopped

Equipment

  • Non-stick skillet
  • Spatula
  • Butter Knife
  • Cutting board

Method

  1. Start by taking your four slices of banana bread. Slightly stale banana bread is ideal!
  2. Spread a thin layer of softened unsalted butter on one side of each slice of banana bread.
  3. On the unbuttered side of two slices, layer the Brie cheese evenly, then sprinkle the chopped dark chocolate over the Brie. Top with the remaining slices of banana bread, buttered side facing out.
  4. Place your non-stick skillet over medium heat and allow it to preheat for a minute or two.
  5. Once hot, place the assembled sandwiches in the skillet. Grill for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown, then flip and grill the other side for an additional 3-4 minutes.
  6. Remove from skillet, let cool for a minute, slice in half, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Feel free to use homemade or store-bought banana bread.
  • Experiment with different types of cheese, such as goat cheese.
  • Dark chocolate is best, but semi-sweet can also be used.
