Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground chuck (or your favorite burger blend)
  • to taste Kosher salt
  • to taste Freshly ground black pepper
  • 4 slices cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or pepper jack)
  • 4 pieces burger buns (slightly buttered and toasted)

  • Parchment paper
  • Meat thermometer

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Line your baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the ground chuck with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper. Mix gently.
  4. Divide the meat mixture into four equal portions and shape them into patties.
  5. Place your shaped patties on the prepared baking sheet and bake for about 20 minutes.
  6. During the last few minutes, top each burger with a slice of cheese until melted.
  7. Toast the buttered burger buns in a skillet or oven until golden brown.
  8. Assemble the burgers on the toasted buns with your favorite toppings.

Notes

  • Use ground beef with at least 80/20 fat content for juicy burgers.
  • Handle the meat gently to avoid tough patties.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
