Ingredients

For the Salmon:
  • 4 fillets salmon thawed if frozen
  • 4 tsp. olive oil for rubbing on salmon
  • 2 tsp. fish rub for rubbing on salmon
For the Mustard-Herb Sauce:
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 3 T mayo
  • 1 T Dijon mustard or slightly more to taste
  • 1 T lemon juice
  • 1 T fresh parsley finely chopped
  • 1 T green onion finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp. dried dill weed

Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Measuring spoons
  • Spatula or tongs

Method

Instructions:
  1. Start by patting the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. This helps the seasoning stick and promotes a nice crust when cooked.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil and fish rub. Rub this mixture generously over the salmon fillets, ensuring that each piece is well-coated.
  3. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes. Preheating ensures that the salmon cooks evenly and develops that golden crust.
  4. Place the seasoned salmon fillets in the air fryer basket, skin-side down. Cook for approximately 8-10 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fillets. The salmon should be opaque and flake easily with a fork when done.
  5. While the salmon is cooking, prepare the mustard-herb sauce. In a mixing bowl, combine the sour cream, mayo, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, parsley, green onion, and dried dill weed. Mix until well combined and adjust seasoning to taste.
  6. Once the salmon is cooked, carefully remove it from the air fryer and transfer it to a serving plate. Drizzle the mustard-herb sauce over the top and enjoy your delicious Air Fryer Salmon (with Mustard-Herb Sauce) with your favorite sides.

Notes

  • For a low-fat version, substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream and mayo.
  • Experiment with different herbs like cilantro or basil for unique flavor.
  • Add a pinch of cayenne pepper for a spicy kick.
