Ingredients

  • 12 ounces fresh broccoli florets cut into small, even pieces
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • Fresh lemon slices optional garnish
  • Freshly grated Parmesan cheese optional garnish

Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Measuring spoons
  • Cutting board
  • Knife
  • Serving dish

Method

  1. Start by washing the fresh broccoli florets under cold water. Cut them into small, even pieces to ensure they cook uniformly.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the broccoli florets with extra-virgin olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, kosher salt, and freshly ground black pepper. Toss the florets until they are evenly coated with the seasoning.
  3. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes. This step is crucial to achieving that perfect crispiness.
  4. Once preheated, place the seasoned broccoli florets in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Make sure not to overcrowd the basket to allow proper air circulation. Cook for 10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking.
  5. After cooking, remove the broccoli from the air fryer and transfer it to a serving dish. For an optional touch, garnish with fresh lemon slices and a sprinkle of freshly grated Parmesan cheese.

Notes

  • Allow the broccoli to cool completely before storing in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • For longer storage, freeze the cooked broccoli in a single layer before transferring to a freezer-safe bag for up to 2 months.
  • Reheat leftover broccoli in the air fryer to restore crispiness.
